The Book Group meets the fourth Tuesday of the month. Join us at 7:30 p.m. on November 22 at Barbara Moore’s home. We will discuss “The Johnstown Flood” by David McCullough/ The publisher says, “Graced by David McCullough’s remarkable gift for writing richly textured, sympathetic social history, “The Johnstown Flood” is an absorbing, classic portrait of life in 19th century America, of over-weening confidence, energy and tragedy. It also offers a powerful historical lesson for our century and all times: the danger of assuming that because people are in positions of responsibility they are necessarily behaving responsibly.”
Everyone is welcome. Future books we will read include “The Abstinence Teacher” by Tom Perrotta, and “My Name is Mary Sutter” by Robin Oliveira.
