In this service, Rev. Woulfe will consider the joys, sorrows and perils of carrying another?s burdens. When is it appropriate? Can we take on too much? How might we transfer the load back to where it belongs, once those burdens are assumed?
In this service, this all-important question, once posed to the late
Louise Giesecke, will be answered. What is our "church", and how is it

In times when so many feel so separated from the life of the Spirit,
Universalism offers a redemptive message of love, grace and inclusion.

Inclusion means grace is for us, too? Guest Speaker Rev. Jennifer
Owen-O'Quill , Micah's Porch Community Church, Chicago, IL
Throughout history there have been prophets. Generally we think of them
as having received some divine message not available to the rest of us,
but are we not all prophets when we engage in acts of hope, when we
share our vision of a better world? - Guest Speaker : Rev. Jackie
Clement , First Parish of Malden, Universalist, Malden, MA

find the balance we need.
Last summer, the UUA launched a new national campaign, "Standing on the

The anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr. is an appropriate time to reflect upon Social Justice: is it integral to a healthy spiritual life, both individual and corporate, or is not?
An old saying suggests that it is better to give than to receive. I happen to believe in this myself. But what happens when someone refuses to accept a gift, either graciously or at all? What lessons might the season offer on receiving, as well as giving?
What may we properly borrow from other religious traditions? How do we show respect for others' traditions. Are there some words, rituals and symbols which we should never seek to borrow ere we become guilty of theft?
Once a year, the peoples of this nation are encouraged to reflect on the gifts which we have received during the past year. In this service, we will share the proverbial blessings that have been shared among us in a litany created from all members and friends. Rev. Woulfe will speak on our collective gifts.
One popular slogan features the word "coexist", creating the letters from diverse religious symbols. A lofty goal in theory, is such a thing possible? What examples from the past exist, and how might it fare in the future?
Rev. Woulfe talks about how we as a society need to learn to be more tolerant to other people's opinions when we do not agree with them.
